This listing is for one (1) original antique Chinese painting on pith paper, dating from around 1880. Each piece is a hand-painted miniature created in Canton (Guangzhou) during the Qing Dynasty for the export market.

What makes these paintings special?
They were painted on “pith paper” – a plant-based material with a unique spongy texture and glowing color effect. Each artwork was painted entirely by hand with watercolors, depicting traditional Chinese figures in vivid costume and detail.
