A captivating antique French spelter statue titled “Greek Hunter”, dating from around 1900.
This finely cast figure, standing approximately 34 cm tall, depicts a young hunter in classical attire, complete with bow, arrows, and a resting falcon or eagle by his side.
He is dressed in flowing robes reminiscent of ancient Greek fashion and once held a bird in his raised hand (now partially broken).
The piece is made of spelter (a zinc-based alloy commonly used in the 19th century) with a warm, aged patina in bronze tones. A Parisian foundry seal is visible on the base, reading 'Fabrication Française – Made in France', confirming its origin.
This sculpture combines elegance and neoclassical charm, typical of the Belle Époque decorative arts. Despite some signs of age and a broken element in the raised hand, it remains a beautiful decorative object for collectors of French antiques or mythological art.
