A captivating antique bronze sculpture of a joyful nude woman, crafted around 1900 in the Art Nouveau era. She stands gracefully in motion, with a lively smile and elegantly sculpted body, reflecting the charm of the Belle Époque.
This bronze is created in the style of Clodion (Claude Michel, 1738–1814), known for his expressive, sensual figures. The feminine form, natural pose, and flowing hair evoke the Rococo revival influence of the late 19th century. The figure was intentionally sculpted without arms, not as a fragment but as a stylistic homage to classical antiquity — a common motif in neoclassical and decorative sculpture of the time.
Solid bronze with a rich patina, mounted on a black marble base. Foundry number 326 is stamped underneath, indicating a quality cast, likely from a French or Austrian workshop.
Origin: Probably France or Austria
Date: ca. 1890–1910
Material: Bronze, dark patina; marble base
Height: 26 cm (10.2 in)
Marking: Foundry number 326
Condition:
– Original design without arms (not broken)
– Light wear and beautiful patina
– One corner of marble chipped (see photos)
A rare and elegant decorative piece — ideal for collectors of fine bronzes and Art Nouveau aesthetics.
