A charming antique French plate made by the Pexonne factory (Meurthe-et-Moselle) in the mid-19th century. This collectible piece features the month of “Mars” (March) from a rare series illustrating scenes of rural life. In the center, a young girl tends to geese in front of a cottage, rendered in fine black transfer print. The rim is adorned with a richly embossed and shaded red transferware border.
Marked PEXONNE F on the back, this plate is a fine example of French faience from the Romantic period, prized for its character and pastoral themes.
Condition: Vintage antique condition with visible age-related crazing and minor signs of wear. No visible cracks. A beautiful display piece.
Dimensions: Approx. 21 cm in diameter.
Perfect for collectors of French pottery, 19th-century tableware, or romantic country scenes.
